Prop 65

What is California Proposition 65?

California Proposition 65 is the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Proposition 65 is a California initiative to address concerns regarding exposure to toxic chemicals. Proposition 65 requires warning labels on all products that contain certain levels of the 1100+ elements that the California Air Resources Board considers a carcinogen or a reproductive toxicant. These elements include lead, brass, PVC, and a multitude of other everyday elements. Our products are all tested at one of three accredited laboratories, Intertek Testing Services Ltd or and Bureau Veritas both on individual and immersion test. DEHP is a common chemical found in most household items. California has a requirement that this chemical tests safe at 0.1 % (1000ppm) or below. Our products test well below that standard. We acknowledge the test as our guideline, and according to California standards does not require a label however we choose to add the warning since the chemical DEHP was identified during testing in trace amounts below the limits 0.1 % (1000ppm) safe limits for California .
